Sustainability in plastics production
Sustainability has long been more than just a buzzword - it's an obligation, and the plastics industry in particular is calling for new ways of thinking in order to conserve resources, reduce CO₂ and produce in an environmentally friendly way. at ISK Kunststofftechnik, we understand sustainability as a holistic process - from the choice of materials to energy-efficient production and durable, recyclable products.
A central component: modern, recyclable plastics. Whenever possible, we use materials that are either recycled or bio-based. At the same time, we pay attention to durability - because what lasts a long time does not need to be replaced. This also saves resources.
Our production facilities are optimized. By using new machine technologies and intelligent process control, we reduce energy consumption and minimize waste. This not only protects the environment, but also reduces operating costs - a real benefit for our customers.
We also think sustainably when it comes to product development. Together with our customers, we consider how components can be designed to conserve resources as early as the design process - for example through material reduction, optimum wall thicknesses or multifunctional designs that make assembly steps superfluous.
Last but not least, we rely on regional partnerships and short supply chains to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible. As a Stuttgart-based company, we work closely with partners from the region - for stable, transparent and environmentally conscious value creation.
Our goal: plastic solutions that will still be convincing tomorrow - both technically and ecologically. For us, sustainability is not a compromise, but an opportunity to combine responsibility with innovation.
Fun Fact: Did you know that PET bottles can be recycled up to ten times - and even processed into high-quality technical plastic parts? For example, your water bottle can be turned into a component for the automotive sector.
