Duroplast processing

Thermoset materials are characterized by their high thermomechanical strength and low density compared to metal. At the same time, they are resistant to chemicals and extremely difficult or impossible to burn. In contrast to thermoplastics, thermosets can no longer be deformed once they have hardened.

We use injection molding to process thermosets into housings for commercial vehicle construction, insulations for motor brushes (“brush holders”) or gear wheels for hand tools.

At ISK, the pressing process is primarily used for electrical insulation between motor shafts and armature plates in the manufacture of armature shafts for electric motors.
